The Dei 520T BackUp battery provides added security to your car or truck or motorcycle by
keeping the securty system active and alive even if your power source battery in your vehicle is disconnected by an intruder.
This backup battery is intended only to power the security system's control module and should not be used to power accessories
that may have a large current draw. All alarm accessories should be powered directly from the vehicle's battery.
Connect the backup battery as shown in the diagram.
RED WIRE (+) Constant 12V input.
Connect this wire to a fused source of constant 12 volts. This can be either the main power source feed at the ignition
switch or the (+) terminal at the battery.
BLACK WIRE(--) Chassis ground input. Connect this wire to
the vehicle chassis. Use factory bolt if possible.
BLUE WIRE(--) Trigger
output. Connect this wire to the (--)instant trigger input of the sucurity system. This wire will send a (--)signal
if the vehicle's battery is disconnected, triggering the security system.
GRAY WIRE(+)
12V Output. Connect this wire to the (+) constant power 12V input wire on the alarm control module main harness.
DO NOT connect to the 12V in the vehicle. This wire supplies power to the security system.
IMPORTANT!!!...This
out is only capable of providing enough current to power-up the control module. Any additional accessories
or external relays must be powered by the vehicle's battery. Always follow the guidelins when installing the 520T BackUp
Battery.
1. Due to electrical current limits, do not use the security systems on-board parking light relay
for remote start applications. Most DEI systems have an on-board light flash output polarity jumper that should be moved
to the negative position to activate the after-market or factory out-board parking light relay. For other manufacturer's
alarms that have on-board relays, use an out-board relay for parking light flash.
2. Do not use the 520T
Backup Battery to support the parking light flash during remote start applications, as most parking light systems will require
at least 5 amps of continous draw which exceeds the current output of the 520LT Backup Battry.
3. Use the
520T to backup only the CPU of any security or convience system. All other load use including power door locks, horn
honk, window automation, lighting systems, remote start systems, etc., should have their own fused power lead to a constant
power wire designed for the required load. All of the above optional devices exceed the current output capacity of the
520T Backup Battery.
